Sandra Cisneros"From Straw To Gold"

The story "From Straw To Gold" is about how Cisneros was the only girl of six brothers. She was also Mexican. As a child she moved around alot .But as a child her mother cooked alot .They were expected to know how to cook because they were Mexican. She felt like the woman from in the fairy tale who was locked in a roomand ordered to spin star to gold whenshe was required to wrte a critical essay for her MFA exam. She left any of her brothers did.She was never a bright student in school. She got straight C's and D's on her report card.So nobody thought she would make it.

Cisneros is apart of social justice because On July 29-30 and Aug. 1, a group of writers and artists that calls itself the Macondo Foundation, headed by author Sandra Cisneors, will present Macondo Libre. It’s an event that allows writers and artists to share their work about social change and justice.

Connections:I can relate to Sandra Cisneros because she moved around alot and I do to so you never get too comfortable.
